Passengers arrive without baggage on American Airlines flight from New York
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 31ST 2008 (CUOPM) – Scores of passengers on American Airlines flight from New York’s JFK Airport to St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport arrived here Wednesday minus their luggage.
The New York to St. Kitts flight was one of 25 American Airlines flights that were delayed after the software that controls the baggage-sorting conveyor belt malfunctioned.
Flights were delayed from 60 to 90 minutes, according to the airline, and some bags were not loaded onto the planes before scheduled departures. The airline said workers were sorting bags by hand.
The airline let passengers decide if they wanted to fly without their luggage, informing them that bags would be delivered to them at their destination.
Also, passengers traveling to, from or through Kennedy were permitted to change their reservation to fly to, from or through another city served by American Airlines, without a change of fee. ~~Adz:Right~~
