Another Sold-Out Performance for The Fireflies Dance School

Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, July 4th, 2012  --  The tiny dancers of the Fireflies Dance School are all set to grace the stage this weekend before a sold-out auditorium. Director, Heidi Slack, said that the school is profoundly thankful for the phenomenal support from parents, friends and the general public.

She also expressed how thrilled the dancers are to be performing to a full house and promised an evening of top-notch entertainment.

“DANCING THROUGH LIFE” will feature the sixty-five (65) members of the school as they dance their way from one stage of life to the next including birth, youth and old age. Other facets of life’s journey like marriage, family, fears and choices will also come alive through creative choreography.

Although the featured dance group will be The Fireflies Dance School, there will be special guest performances from the Children’s Dance Theatre, the CFBC Dance Ensemble, Creative Sole, D.A.N.C.E with Rising Stars, Pernelle Abraham, Patrick Walters along with the reigning Ms.  Caribbean Talented Teen, Siobhan Phipps.

“DANCING THROUGH LIFE” takes place at the Sir Cecil Jacob’s Auditorium (ECCB), Saturday July 7th at 6pm.

The Fireflies Dance School was founded in September 2005 by Heidi Slack with the aim to introduce children to the wonderful and fun art of dance while improving their self esteem & confidence, body awareness, imagination & creativity, concentration & focus, co-ordination, rhythm, flexibility, fine-motor skills, team-member skills, memory and mathematical skills and alertness, teaching discipline and providing moderate exercise while enhancing their sense of accomplishment and artistic abilities.

The school caters to dancers between the ages of 3 and 10 (preschool to Grade 4) and students are taught a curriculum of Jazz, Ballet, Afro-Caribbean and basic acrobatic moves.
