ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, July 6th, 2012 -- An electrical engineer, lawyer, hotelier, communication specialist and an architect are amongst those who pledge to lead the Rotary Club of Tortola into the next Rotary year.
This mixture of new and experience Rotarians have vowed to make this Rotary year a memorable one by increasing the amount of hands on projects; donations disbursed within the community and membership. Chartered in January 1968, the Rotary Club of Tortola is one of the most mature Clubs in District 7020, which consists of 80 Clubs in 10 Caribbean Countries.
With some of the most notable achievements recorded over the years coupled with the appointment of Virgin Islander Mr. Vance Lewis as District Governor the Rotary Club of Tortola is looking forward to another stellar year of activities and towards making an indelible contribution to the Virgin Islands Community as well as to our regional and international brothers and sisters.
The new officers and directors will spend the next couple of months focusing on their plans to move the club to the next level whilst keeping the theme of this Rotary year in perspective which is “Peace Through Service”.
The Rotary Club of Tortola meets every Thursday at the Moorings at 12:00 noon.
