Kittitian wins Miss Caribbean US Beauty Pageant

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IT was great news for the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis in the field of pageantry over the weekend (July 7) when Stacey Greene captured the Miss Caribbean US Beauty Pageant title.

     

    From a field of 12 contestants Greene captured the crown along with Best Talent, Best Cultural Presentation, Best Evening Wear & Best Interview.
     
    Miss USVI - Ashlee Douglas was awarded first runner-up, Miss Guyana-Mariel King placed second runner-up while Miss Trinidad & Tobago-Anika Deberry and Miss Puerto Rico both tied in fourth runner-up position.
     
    In a previous release Greene said she was honoured that the pageant organizers selected her to represent her home land of St. Kitts and Nevis as she was born and raised in the spirited villages of Upper Cayon, Newtown and Trafalgar.
     
    Greene who currently resides in Philadelphia, PA is a dance performer, tutor and public speaker.
     
    The pageant was founded by its current CEO and President, Yolanda Wallace, a Trinidad native. The Miss Caribbean U.S. Beauty pageant is a yearly event that seeks to highlight the talent, beauty and diversity of the Caribbean Diaspora within the United States.
     
    It also allows goal-oriented, 21st century Caribbean women in the United States to advance the causes of the West Indians in the USA, by acting as ambassadors of excellence in their various pursuits.
     
    The pageant was held in the Martin Luther King High School Auditorium.

    Greene holds a Masters in Business Administration major: Project Management and a Bachelor’s of Science degree with honors in Computer Information Systems major: Database Management.

    As a Kittitian born dance artist and choreographer, she has trained the Washington Archibald High School 2006 Cheerleading Champions and has been a member of the ViVace Dance Company and CFBC Dance Ensemble as well as a tutor with the FireFlies Dance school, Children’s Dance Theater and ViVace Teen Academy.

    Following the show, Greene stated she was very elated that many nationals could view the show, many of whom expressed great pleasure in her performance in representation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

     

    She also thanked Daryl Rawlins, Melissa Morton, Latoya Mills and other friends who traveled from New York to show support at the show.
