ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, July 25th, 2012 -- The Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee salutes the 2012 recipient Ms. Jade O’Neal-Daniel. Jade, a Class Five student at the Ivan Dawson Primary School was the Valedictorian of the 2012 Graduating Class and the twelfth scholarship recipient. She received numerous trophies and awards including the Ivan Dawson Memorial Trophy for Valedictorian.
Jade enjoys singing and reading and would like to pursue a career in education as a teacher. She is the daughter of Mr. Atherly Daniel and Mrs. Jenifer C. O’Neal-Daniel.
In her Valedictory address on July 3rd, 2012 Jade expressed thanks on behalf of the graduates to parents, and the Principal and Staff of the Ivan Dawson Primary School, especially their Class 5 teacher Ms. Janelle Rhymer.
She admonished her fellow classmates with the following words:
“Today is one of those days when we get to celebrate our achievements, our perseverance, and our successes. It is a time for us to finally take a break and reflect on where we have come from and where we are trying to go, knowing that, with God's help, we have done just fine and are on the right path.
We are the intelligent, talented, ambitious, unique, and successful 2012 graduates of the Ivan Dawson Primary School. As we let go of each other's hand now, remember to stay strong, stay focused, and stay determined.”
We wish Jade God’s blessings as she continues on the road of excellence and much success in her future endeavors.
