St Kitts Nevis Cadet Corps performs military funeral for late member CDT Henry K

Press Release ( Cadet Corps)

BASSETERRE ST. Kitts, August 1st, 2012  --  The St Kitts Nevis Cadet Corps mourns the passing of one of its members, 14 year old CDT KEJUAN PATRICK DIONJE HENRY a student at the Cayon High School who passed away earlier in the month of July at JNF Hospital in Basseterre, St Kitts.

The thanksgiving service to celebrate the life of CDT Henry was held at The Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Bourryeau on Thursday 26 July 2012 and interment was at the St Mary’s Parish Cemetery.

A military funeral was arranged and conducted by the St Kitts Nevis Cadet Corps, with cadet forming the honour guard and being the pall bearers. The experience of actually performing the key roles in a military funeral was new and different to the Cadets but the young men and women practiced and rehearsed the various precision drills late into the night prior to the funeral service in order to have all details perfect for a memorable funeral for a late colleague.

It was indeed a sad occasion for the cadets and cadet recruits who attended the funeral service to say good bye to a fellow Cadet, with whom they had spent much time in training, sporting and overcoming the many challenges during rigorous military exercises.

The St Kitts Nevis Cadet Corps wishes to express its sincere and deep condolences to the family of the late CDT Henry on their loss. We pray that God gives them faith, courage and strength in their time of bereavement. The Corps also pray that the late PTE Henry soul receives God’s compassion and rest in eternal peace.
