Press Release
Its another first for Cable & Wireless with the design and hosting of a Dominica elections website.  With elections imminent in the Nature Isle, the website is designed to provide a wealth of information about the upcoming elections.  The brainchild of the Company, the website will be the number one source for election information.

Chief Executive of Cable & Wireless, Colin James, says with the global reach of the Internet, we thought it would be a good idea to utilize our technology and our technical capacity to fulfill our role as Educator of the many Dominicans across the Diaspora and other overseas persons who are keen on following the upcoming elections.   Mr James continues by saying that the setting up of the website is also part of the Companys commitment to keep the wider local public informed about whats happening on the election circuit.

We wanted to make a tangible contribution towards the election process by keeping residents up-to-date and in touch with whats happening on the road to the 2005 General Elections and so the website will provide information about candidates, constituencies and the Election Code as well as assist the voting process by furnishing details of polling stations, ballot information, voting procedures and election rules.

The site, accessible at www.dominicaelections.com, also provides historical data, which compares election results over the years, a multimedia link where persons can tune into what their favourite candidates are saying on the campaign trail and the various party manifestos will also be posted on the website, as soon as they become available.

Merina Williams, Chief Elections Officer, welcomed the launch of the website and was very supportive and forthcoming with information to populate the site.  We were happy to have worked with Cable & Wireless in providing the required information to make this website a reality.  This website will certainly provide a medium whereby Dominicans and other persons, both in and out of Dominica, can access much needed information about the election process in Dominica.

The site will be continually updated to ensure that visitors to the site are kept current about the latest developments on the road to the 2005 Dominica Elections.
