By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – PUBLIC Information Officer (PIO) attached to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force – Inspector Lyndon David – has confirmed that a lifeless body was found in the Bath Village earlier today (Aug. 16).

Inspector David indicated to SKNVibes that according to the information he received, the remains that were discovered are those of Patrick ‘Flash’ Lawrence, a member of the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services.

Although not indicating by whom the discovery was made, he informed that it was made at about 7:00 this morning and the police were called in to carry out investigations. He also indicated that Lawrence was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer (DMO) and, having received permission from the coroner, his remains were removed from the scene.

He did not provide much additional information but indicated that a press release would be disseminated at a later time.

Asked if the body bore signs of foul play, Inspector David said he cannot speak to that issue then, but noted that an autopsy would be performed on Lawrence’s remains and “if necessary” the results would be made public.

This publication however received unconfirmed reports which suggest that Lawrence may have sustained some sort of head injury(s).

As the authorities make their investigations into the incident, the PIO called upon members of the public with the relevant information to come forward and share it with the police. He said the information bearers may contact the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 469-5391 Ext. 27 or any police station in Nevis.

He promised that any information received by the police would be handled with the strictest confidence.

This publication understands that though a member of the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Department, Lawrence was on suspension pending the disposal of a case which was before the court.
