One to perform 300 hours community service
Basseterre, St. Kitts – TWO young men, Chad Williams of Central Street and Wayne ‘Waynie’ Ible of Baker’s Corner, were charged with assault with a firearm.
A police press release states that Williams committed the offence on Saturday (Aug. 18) and Ible, who is on a three-count charge, committed the offences two days earlier.
Both men are currently on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison awaiting trial.
The police did not provide details that led to the two men being charged.
However, this media house learnt that a conflict exists between the two and both of them had lodged reports against each other at the Basseterre Police Station, claiming that they each were assaulted by the other who toted firearms.
The last report was made by Williams and, on Saturday last, officers arrested and charged Ible and he was remanded to prison.
Meanwhile, two men appeared at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court and were convicted for the charges proffered against them.
For threatening language committed on May, 15, 2012, Desroy Clarke of Buckley’s Estate was convicted and cautioned, while Krenly Cannonier of parsons Village was convicted for possession of cannabis and sentenced to perform 300 hours of community service or serve a two-month jail term.
The magistrate also ordered that he be supervised by a probation officer.
