Miss Jamaica wins Miss Jamzone, SKN finishes third

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – HAILING from the land of reggae and dancehall music, Insurance Underwriter, 23-year-old, Kerrie Baylis was crowned Miss Jamzone International last evening (August 21) at Guyana’s Summer Festival Competition.

     

    In first runner-up position was Louise Victor of St. Lucia while Sugar City’s Trevicia ‘Barbie’ Adams representing St. Kitts and Nevis placed second runner-up.

     

    Miss Guyana, Ayana Harris placed third runner-up while Miss Trinidad and Tobago Renee Bhagwandeen.

     

    Along with the crown and a cheque of US$10,000, Miss Jamaica also captured the Best Evening Wear, Best Interview, Best Body and Best Introductory Speech awards while Miss Guyana won Best Smile and Miss Congeniality.

     

    Miss Jamaica has a life ambition to be happy and successful in whatever she does while living with no regrets.

     

    Adams is currently the reigning Miss Caribbean Culture and placed first runner-up in the National Carnival Queen Pageant.

     

    The 21-year-old Bank Teller enjoys dancing and singing and is hoping to pursue a degree in marketing as she hopes to one day own a Marketing Consulting Firm.

     

    The pageant is part of Guyana's premier festival, Jamzone Summer Break and saw eleven delegates from all across the Caribbean and Latin America competing.
     
    Last year’s competition was won by 19-year-old Trinidad and Tobago journalist, Davia Chambers, while Fatisha Imo who represented St. Kitts and Nevis placed third runner-up.
