BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Cuban Alumni Association is making good on their promise to give back to the community when they recently made a donation that would benefit both the Salvation Army’s Pre-school and  the Church.

President of the Association, Dr. Dail Crawford, said that they wanted to do a ‘back to school’ presentation and found out that the Salvation Army pre-school was in need of school supplies.

The group also donated two ceiling fans that will serve both the Church and Pre-school.

“We found that it was fitting to assist the Salvation Army. They have played a very major role in community development and they were most deserving for our ‘back to school’ presentation,” he said.

Crawford said that it (giving back) is something they hope to do every year and that the donation is a first of many for their community outreach programme.

The presentation was done during the Church service on August 26, with members of the Association present.

Major Roxroy Campbell extended gratitude to the Association for their timely donation.

“I would like to say thank you to the Cuban Alumni Association on behalf of the School, as the School was started to help many persons in the community and these donations will be very beneficial for us,” he said.
