BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A male national of the Philippines residing at Leeward Cove in Frigate Bay is among four persons, including a young woman, charged with various criminal offences.

A press release from the Police Public Relations Office states that Philippines national Johmel Baustista was arrested and charged for possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

He allegedly committed the offences at the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport on Monday (Sept. 10). The police however did not state the quantity of cocaine he was caught with or its street value.

Just five days earlier, Chief Magistrate Josephine Mallalieu-Webbe had sentenced a St. Lucian, Vincent Clerice, to two years imprisonment with hard labour after he was found guilty of importing 134.108 kilograms of cocaine into the Federation.

The lone female arrested and charged is Latisha Joshua of Rawlins Village, Gingerland, Nevis. She was charged with wounding, an offence that the release states she committed on Monday (Sept. 10) at the Frigate Bay Strip.

Also charged are Winsroy Duporte of Ponds Extension and Javon Sutton of Durant Avenue, Basseterre.

Duport was charged for a September 7, 2012 offence of larceny, while Sutton was charged with possession of crack cocaine; an offence he allegedly committed on Saturday (Sept. 8).
