Sandy Pointer charged for attempting to run from child maintenance

    Eight others for various offences

     

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have charged a Sandy Point man for attempting to leave the Federation without making adequate provision in the maintenance of his child, and eight others were also charged for various offences ranging from wounding to escaping lawful custody.

     

    A police press release states that on Tuesday (Sept. 18) Leroy Lewis of Romney Ground, Sandy Point was charged with “being about to leave the Federation without making adequate provision for the maintenance of his child”.

     

    It also states that police have proffered five charges against Kenzo Carey of Tabernacle Village.

     

    He was charged with disorderly conduct by fighting, resisting arrest, obstruction, escaping lawful custody and battery on police. Offences he allegedly committed on Sunday (Sept. 16); while Inez Carey of the same address was charged on the said day for the offences of disorderly conduct by fighting and throwing missiles.

     

    Also on the said day, Wendell Gumbs of Tabernacle Village was  charged with wounding, while  Cynthia Sargent of the same village was charged with wounding and disorderly conduct by fighting.

     

    And on Thursday (Sept. 20) Nakila and Sheron Maynard of Pond’s Extension were jointly charged with disorderly conduct by noise.

     

    Meanwhile, two individuals were charged with traffic offences.

     

    Imra ‘Kurit’ Bacchus of Lodge Village was charged for driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to provide a specimen of blood at Conaree Village. These offences were committed on Tuesday (Sept. 18), while Vansh Lander of Sliver Reef, Frigate Bay was charged on the following day for driving under the influence of alcohol at Fort Street.
