And today's financial tip: Can I add another person’s name to my Registry account?

Yes. Investors can choose to have joint accounts for holding securities, just as you can choose to hold money in a joint account at a commercial bank. It is important to remember that different types of securities can be held in the same Registry account, and if another person is added to your account it means that they jointly own all the securities in that account.

If you wish to add another person to your account at the Registry, an Addition of Holder form must be completed and either notarized by a Notary Public or stamped by a Broker. Proof of your identity must also be submitted along with the completed form. The form can be obtained at any Broker’s office or at the ECSE’s website, www.ecseonline.com.
