By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE man, whose lifeless body was discovered Thursday night (Oct. 11) lying on the main road in Soho Village, approximately 60 metres west of Upper Market Street in Basseterre, was identified as Nester Hazel of Shadwell Housing.

This media house had earlier stated that reports indicated that the 24-year-old man was shot to death, but on arrival at the scene learnt that he had died of natural causes.

This was confirmed by police today (Oct. 13) in a press release, which states that yesterday the resident pathologist performed an autopsy on Hazel’s body and found that death was caused by bilateral bronchopneumonia.

The pathologist indicated that there were no signs of foul play observed on the body.

The body was handed over to the family.

The release states, “At about 10:18 pm on Thursday 11th October 2012, officers of Criminal Investigation Department, Crime Scene Unit, and Special Service Unit responded to a report of a body found at Soho, Basseterre.

“Initial investigation revealed that a passer-by found the body lying on the main road at Soho Village, Basseterre in the vicinity of Gary's Fruit & Flower Shop.”
