ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, October 18th, 2012  --  One of the highlights of the World Food Day ceremony and presentation was the prepared Lion Fish, a contribution made by the Conservation and Fisheries Department in commemoration of World Food Day.

Yesterday, the Territory joined the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the U
nited Nations (FAO of the UN) in the observance of World Food Day 2012, with its customary activities held in the Breezeway of the Administration Complex.

A new addition to this year’s activities included a sampling of the currently pervasive Lion Fish, which proved to be a delicacy and quite popular amongst those that attended the event.  The Day was observed under the theme, “Agricultural Cooperatives – Key to Feeding the World”.
