ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, October 18th, 2012 -- One of the highlights of the World Food Day ceremony and presentation was the prepared Lion Fish, a contribution made by the Conservation and Fisheries Department in commemoration of World Food Day.
Yesterday, the Territory joined the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO of the UN) in the observance of World Food Day 2012, with its customary activities held in the Breezeway of the Administration Complex.
A new addition to this year’s activities included a sampling of the currently pervasive Lion Fish, which proved to be a delicacy and quite popular amongst those that attended the event. The Day was observed under the theme, “Agricultural Cooperatives – Key to Feeding the World”.
