No. Not our Lands. Enough!

By: Public Relations Office of the PAM, Press Release

    Cayon Townhall meeting a success

BASSETERRE St.Kitts, October 19th, 2012  --  The electorate of constituency number eight came out in their number Thursday evening, October 17, at the Cayon Community Centre mainly to vent their frustration with the Denzil Douglas led Administration over the vexing situation of the Land Swap.

The electorate kept the evening’s proceedings going well into the night as one after another they rose to their feet stating to the PAM officials that they are ready for action as they have had ENOUGH of the talk.

One irate member of the audience said that he actually voted for the Labour administration. He admitted that the Labour government is not doing a good job and now the Land Swap situation is unbearable and he has had ENOUGH.  He appealed to the PAM official to stop talking and start doing.

Another gentleman rose to his feet addressed the head table and the audience and said that he too has had ENOUGH.  He reminded all that he is a Labour man but he can no longer vote for that Labour Party with Douglas at the head.  He went onto state that Prominent Labour Leader at a town hall meeting said that when there are decenters in the ranks their heads should be chop off. Then he asked the audience about Billy.

The general tone of those who spoke up asked the PAM leadership for action and no more talk.  Some went as far to say that they are not returning to anymore talk shop meeting.  They all demand action.

Constituency number 8 organized a town hall meeting mainly to introduce the New Political Leader, Honourable Shawn K. Richards and to discuss the two main topics for the evening which were Land Swap and Electricity.

The meeting was chaired by Senator Vincent Byron.  Honourable Eugene A. Hamilton addressed mainly the Land Swap issue in his presentation while the Honourable Richards addressed both issues of Land Swap and Electricity.

The well attended meeting began just before 7:30 PM with slightly fewer than one hundred in attendance. The meeting was active from beginning to end at about 10:45 PM.
