ST. GEORGE, Grenada October 19th, 2012 – Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas will arrive in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday, as he leads a delegation to attend the World Energy Forum, (WEF) scheduled for next week in that country.
As part of Grenada’s participation in the WEF, Prime Minister Thomas will address the summit on Monday October 22, 2012, speaking to national and international energy policies and sustainable development. Prime Minister Thomas has emerged as a world leader on the issue of sustainable development and the green economy.
While in the UAE, PM Thomas along with his team will also engage senior Government officials, the Dubai Chamber and members of the business community in Dubai and the wider UAE.
Grenada and the UAE have had diplomatic relations since March, 1975, highlighted recently with the Arab nation’s contribution to the construction of the new Parliament Building.
Minister of Tourism and Culture, Dr. George Vincent, Ambassadors William Joseph, Mehrle Fischer and George McLeish complete the Prime Minister’s delegation.
On his return from the UAE, the PM will stop in New York to engage with Grenadians residing in the US and will arrive in Grenada on October 30, 2012.
