BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MIDDLE and upper-level management of Kajola Kristada showered Keristyne Hodge with words of praise and congratulation, noting that she is more than deserving of the company’s Employee of the Month (EOM) September 2012 Award.
The Super Trap Line worker and mother of three spoke to SKNVibes earlier today (Oct. 19) and her humility was evident.
She recalled that recently while performing her duties, her supervisor indicated to her that she should report to the Human Resource Manager’s office.
“When I got there Malvy was questioning me and I was a bit frightened, and then she told me that I won Employee of the Month. I was a bit frightened and startled when she told me.”
Head of the Human Resource Department Malvy James spoke glowingly of Hodge, describing her as dependable and dedicated.
“She is very, very efficient. She doesn’t murmur. We have an incentive programme for notchers and she always gets that incentive because she does her work well. She is a very humble person and she is always willing to go the extra mile. She really deserves this award.”
Also showering Hodge with verbal accolades was her supervisor, Valarie Adams.
“She is really dedicated in her job. I could depend on her any day. If I have an order that I have to finish within a specific time, she is always willing to go the extra mile and put in the extra time. We understand that she really cannot work the overtime during the week because she has a young child, but at any other time she is always willing and able to assist. And that is one of the things I appreciate about her. She is very very dedicated.”
Kajola Kristada’s Planner Dawn Poujard said she also had taken note of the 28-year-old’s work ethic and applauded her as a “versatile” and “willing” individual.
The criteria against which one is measured in order to receive the EOM Award includes quality of work, versatility, attire, attendance and knowledge of the job.
SKNVibes understands that Hodge was selected from among 200-plus workers to receive the title.
She says she has always worked hard and though this is her first time of winning, she never relented in the execution of her duties. And as such, she encouraged her fellow workers to “continue doing the hard work that you do and you will succeed”.
Hodge has been employed with the company for approximately six years and now, for an entire year, her picture would be prominently displayed amongst those of her fellow award winners on Kajola’s Wall of Fame.
