BRADES, Montserrat, October 19th, 2012 – Ben Meade, a former reporter and on-air personality at ZJB Radio Montserrat has been appointed as News Director at Cayman 27, the local news channel in the Cayman Islands.

Ben has been with the company for the past two years as a reporter/producer. He has built a career in the field of journalism, having previously worked at the Caribbean Media Corporation, the Observer Media Group in Antigua, and the British Broadcasting Corporation.

The news director can recall his very inauspicious start to his career as an intern stacking LPs in the library of Radio Montserrat in the 1990s, where he would later get his start as a reporter and on-air personality.

“When he was with us he showed the potential to reach the top of his career as he possessed all of the qualities that would make him an excellent journalist and news editor. We are very pleased at his new appointment and wish him every success,” said Herman Sargeant, Broadcast Manager of ZJB Radio.

Cayman 27’s news team, which Meade will lead, is responsible for producing Daybreak, Cayman 27 News, 27 Tonight and a variety of local talk shows. Ben said he will appear as an analyst from time to time during special events such as elections but will work behind the scenes to ensure that his team continues to deliver the exceptional standard of news programming that is synonymous with Cayman 27.
