ECCB Presents 2012 Best Corporate Citizen Awards Among ECCU Commercial Banks

    Basseterre, St Kitts, 31 October 2012  -- The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) will award commercial banks which operate within the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) for their outstanding contribution to the overall development and well-being of the citizens of the ECCU, when it presents the 2012 Best Corporate Citizen Awards Among ECCU Commercial Banks on 7 November.

     

    The ECCB introduced the awards in 1997 to recognise the banks which operate within the ECCU, for implementing, participating in and promoting initiatives and on-going programmes designed to improve the quality of life of the people they serve. 

     

    Good Corporate Citizen Awards will be presented to banks that have been adjudged to have carried out their corporate social responsibilities to the highest level in the following areas:
    1. Educational Development
    2. Community Outreach and Social Services
    3. Environmental Awareness
    4. Sports
    5. Cultural Development
    6. Customer Service
    7. Financial Education and Empowerment

     


    The Best Corporate Citizen Award will be presented to the bank which has been assessed as having made outstanding contributions to the development of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union through human resource development and sustained community outreach.

     

    The 2012 Best Corporate Citizen Awards Among ECCU Commercial Banks is one component of the ECCB’s community outreach programme.  The awards will be presented during the 17th Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial Lecture, which will be held at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium, ECCB Headquarters.
