BRADES, Montserrat, November 1st, 2012 – Travellers coming to Montserrat during the Christmas season will benefit from an extended ferry service to the island from Antigua. The service will operate on December 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 and then from December 10 to January 12, 2013, announced the Montserrat Tourist Board Wednesday.
The service will not operate on Christmas Day (Tuesday December 25). The current ferry service which is available on www.visitmontserrat.com/By_Sea will continue its three (3) day schedule between the islands until November 30 with the new schedule taking effect from December 1, 2012.
The new schedule, which is outlined below will allow visitors and returning residents flying into Antigua, to make same day connections to Montserrat by ferry.

No advance ticketing is required, as travellers can purchase their tickets upon check-in. However, to facilitate ticketing, check-in and other clearances at the point of sale at the ports, passengers are asked to check-in 90 minutes in advance before the scheduled time for departure.
The fares for the ferry service are EC$300 return (EC$150 one way) for adults and EC$150 return for children under 12 years. Each passenger is allowed 2 pieces of baggage free and any additional baggage is charged at EC$50.00 per piece.
