Integrity in Public Life Bill goes before National Assembly,

    Legislation to increase number of senators to be given full debate

     

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 16TH 2012 (CUOPM) – The Integrity in Public Life Bill, 2012 and The Senators (Increasing of Number) Bill, 2012 are among legislation before the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly during a sitting next week. 

     

    According to the Order Paper, Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Hon. Patrice Nisbett will introduce those two pieces of legislation at the November 21st Session.

     

     While the Integrity in Public Life Bill will be introduced and given a first reading, the Bill to increase the number of senators in the lawmaking body will be given a second reading and debated. 

     

    Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas will introduce, have read a first and second time and debated, The Income Tax (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2012. 

     

    One other Bill to be debated is The Maintenance of Children Bill (2012) in the name of Minster of Social Services, Health, Community Development and Gender Affairs, the Hon. Marcella Liburd.
