CIBC First Caribbean International Bank treats media to luncheon

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE thought really did count…and the company, ambiance, fine dining, healthy discussion capped with the smooth sounds of Christmas songs permeating the atmosphere were just a few of the highlights of the CIBC First Caribbean International Bank’s Media Appreciation Luncheon.

The kind gesture was executed at the Ocean Terrace Inn’s Waterfall Restaurant, where media operatives from across the Federation were invited to indulge in a sumptuous and healthy meal.

With a cosy and natural appeal, the Waterfall Restaurant provided the perfect atmosphere in which media operatives could ditch the rigors of their everyday duties and enjoy each other’s company, as well as that of senior officials of the Bank.

After a brief welcome by Country Manager Ladesa James, all – including approximately 20 media reps - assembled in a buffet queue, collected their meal and sat for lunch and discourse.

Although in a more relaxed and inviting atmosphere, the media and banking representatives could not resist engaging in conversations surrounding current affairs, most of which closely relate to their daily duties.

James explained to SKNVibes that the purpose of the event was two-fold; to show appreciation to the media and also to encourage all to become more familiar with each other.

“We have a number of partners as a bank and one of our main partners is the media. You provide us with significant support in terms of getting our message across to St. Kitts and Nevis and we thought it best to show appreciation, also to put a face to the names. We know the names but we might not necessarily know each other socially and know each other’s face. So we wanted just to have an event where all of the media and the senior leadership and CIBC First Caribbean would sit and have a meal together.”

She deemed the exercise a success, adding that “we really had a good time and we all had fun”.

Other partners of the Bank, James indicated, would be the recipients of such acts of appreciation in the not-too-distant future.

SKNVibes would like to express thanks to the CIBC First Caribbean International Bank for the appreciation it has shown to the media and its contribution to the development of the Federation of St. Christopher and Nevis.
