SKI Academy Celebrates the Opening of Their New Premises

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 23rd 2012 - From it’s first days in a one-roomschoolhouse in Greenlands to a sprawling 5-acre property in Canada Estates, St. Kitts International Academy is happy to announce the opening of their amazing new school premises that is second to none. Celebrating it’s twelfth year of education in St. Kitts and Nevis, the new home of SKI Academy offersstate of the art classrooms,administration building, multi-purpose cafeteria, swimming pool, basketball court and tons of outdoor space for the children to play. The school is also waiting the construction of a 2500 square foot playground that was specifically designed to meet the growing physical needs of their students. The pride of the school is the bright and welcoming classrooms that have been individually decorated by their class teachersto match the interest of the students that are being taught there. All of this is complemented by the latest in technology with the introduction of Mimio smart boards in every classroom. Dr. Gaddam – President of Windsor University School of Medicineteamed with Dale Amory, principal of SKI Academy, in July of this year. Plans were made, renovations were done and on Thursday October 25, 2012, students had their first day of classes in their new premises. Among the many hi-lights of that daywas the first ride in their very own school bus and a swim in theirvery own swimming pool. Some of the priceless comments from the students when they entered their classrooms were, “ Mrs. Amory, I just want to die here!, “Can you call my parents  as I am never leaving this classroom!” It made the day a memorable one for all involved. Everyone in the SKI Academy community is forever thankful for the large investment that Dr. Gaddam and the Windsor University School of Medicine have made to this project.

     

    SKI Academy, with it’s staff of qualified teachers, provides exposure to a high quality of education coupled with a unique personal development program that ensures an educational experience that builds on the academic, social and emotional needs of their students. Their innovative curriculum is delivered in small class sizes that are highly infused with technology, which allows for strong teacher-student interactions. SKI Academy currently offers classes for students from Grades 1 through to Grade 8 and its curriculum is geared to international students and the St. Kitts and Nevis community. Plans are already in place for expansion into high school.
