BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LEADER of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) the Hon. Shawn K. Richards has lashed back at Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Denzil Douglas for comments he made about PAM’s reasons for wanting to get back into power.

In response to a caller on Tuesday’s (Nov. 20) edition of his weekly radio programme ‘Ask the Prime Minister’, Dr. Douglas expressed that the PAM intention is to get back into public office so that they could “deal with Labour people as they constantly say, to harass, to arrest and to bring confusion and turmoil in this country because people will resist if that is their attitude for getting back into power”.

The PAM-organised a march which took place on Thursday afternoon (Nov. 22) and during the ensuing rally that took place on Bank Street, Richards declared that his party wants to get into power to deal only with one Labour person.

“PAM wants to get into power in this country to deal with one Labour person and that is him,” Richards expressed referring to PM Douglas.

He added that the PAM’s intentions are to get into office to promote a St. Kitts and Nevis that is beneficial to all, regardless of political persuasion.

“We want to get into power to rid this county of greed, to rid this country of corruption, to rid this country of poverty and to build a better St. Kitts and Nevis for every single citizen, regardless of which political party he or she supports.”
