Domino Champions shuffle up cash in the C&C/White Oak Domino Competition

Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 29th, 2012  --  After six weeks of intense domino competition, a winner has finally emerged in the C&C/White Oak Annual Domino Competition.

The winning pair of Sato Brudy and Steve Flemming of Newton Ground slammed Derrick Huggins and Calvin Farrell of Lodge, three games to two, to be declared champions of the 2012 competition.  Bragging rights apart, the duo also pocketed $1,000 in cash and the runners-up $500.

“We are very pleased with the enthusiasm of this year’s competition,” remarked Keithley Phillip, Marketing Manager at C&C Trading Ltd.  “It was a pleasure to observe the competitors in this year’s challenge keenly compete in a spirit of camaraderie and fun,” he said.

Sixteen teams were registered for the competition which was held in four zones comprising teams from Sandy Point to Stapleton Village.  After four exciting rounds of competition the semi-finals and finals were played at Pabo’s Shop in Stapleton.

A large crowd of domino fans provided the supporting backdrop for this stage of the competition.  Played in a round robin format, four teams took on each other to determine the finalists.

For the second straight year, Steve Flemming has tasted victory.  In the inaugural tournament held last year, he partnered with Karl Francis when they slammed their way to victory.

C&C Trading Ltd extends a hearty thank you to the participating shops and teams for making this year’s event a success.  Domino lovers are encouraged to continue crafting their skills in readiness of the third anniversary of the competition next year.
