BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A woman was left trapped in a vehicle and subsequently hospitalised following a traffic accident that occurred Friday (Dec. 7) at Bird Rock in the vicinity of Hobson Enterprises’ compound.

The accident involved two vehicles, a motor omnibus (H7307) and a motorcar (P7645).

Information received by this media house from SGT Calvin Amory of the Traffic Department revealed that the omnibus is owned and was driven by Donnett Huggins of West Farm and the motorcar is owned and was driven by Anne Verity of Harbour View, Bird Rock.

According to the SGT’s explanation of the circumstances which led to the accident, P7645 had travelled down the road which sits adjacent to Hobson Enterprises and was making an attempt to exit onto the Bird Rock main road. And with H7307 travelling southward along the Bird Rock main road, the collision occurred.

The front portion of H7307 collided with the driver’s side of P7645, and as a result P7645 sustained extensive damage and its driver was reportedly trapped within the vehicle.

She was however able to exit after reportedly receiving assistance from individuals who were on the scene, and was subsequently transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where she was warded in stable condition.

The omnibus also sustained damage as a result of the incident. However, the driver was unhurt.
