Hurdles Training Camp (Greneda 2012)

    BASSETERRE ST. Kitts, December 12th 2012 -  The St. Kitts & Nevis Amateur Athletic Association is pleased to announce the two (2) athletes and one (1) official selected to represent the federation at a hurdles training camp in Greneda scheduled from Sunday 9th – Saturday 15th December 2012. Representing the federation are Coach Timothy Morton, Athletes Curvis Collins and Demitre Browne. The training camp is organized by the Associations of National Olympic Committees of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (ANOCES) Sports Academy and is geared towards the development of young athletes who are aged between 12 and 15 years in 2012. The St. Kitts and Nevis National Olympic Committee (SKNOC) who is also a member of ANOCES, fully funded the National Representative Team in the sum of USD3000.00.

     

    The two (2) athletes selected previously represented the SKNAAA at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Age Group Championship held in Road Town, Tortola in June 2011. Despite hurdling for the first time at the Championships, their contribution propelled St. Kitts and Nevis to an overall fourth (4th) place finish out of twenty-one (21) countries. Curvis and Demitre aremcurrently apart of the SKNAAA’s weekly Youth Academy.

     

    The SKNAAA Executive Committee would like to thank the SKNOC for their continued
    contribution to fostering grass root programs in the sport of athletics. We also wish Coach Morton and the two (2) youth athletes all the success in Greneda.
