Park Hyatt St Kitts Hotel Design Team Brief St. Kitts & Nevis Prime Minister on Plans

Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 17th, 2012  --  Architects of Range Developments have briefed St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister and Tourism Minister on the concept plans for the Park Hyatt St. Kitts that will be situated at Banana Bay, Christophe Harbour.

This followed two days of a creative retreat led by design architect Simeon Halstead of Arcadia Design Architects, landscape architect, Peter Imrik of Site Concepts International and interior designer Clodagh and Nancie Minh of Clodagh Design who met in St. Kitts over the weekend to refine the designs for the development of the ultra luxury resort Park Hyatt St Kitts

Following the retreat, design architect, Mr. Halstead, briefed Prime Minister Denzil Douglas, Tourism Minister Ricky Skerritt, Vice Chairman of Range Developments, Mohammed Asaria, and Christophe Harbour’s Phil Keb about the proposed flagship hotel design options. Mr. Halstead said that the designteam walked the entire 30 acre site, carefully examined the numerous spectacular views from all angles, and spent several hours fine-tuning creative ideas and plans for the Hotel & Spa Resort.

He felt that the two-day retreat on the island was critically important. “For me, it confirms that this is the right approach to a plan. I wanted to become more intimately familiar with the site and see firsthand views of the hill
    s ides.”

Prime Minister Douglas commented following the Sunday night briefing. “I am pleased with the briefing that I received this evening in relation to the work that has been achieved to date and job creation is a high priority for my Government. This development will provide many sustainable jobs during and after construction.”

Tourism Minister Ricky Skerritt said, “The comments from the design team, and the plans I have seen, confirm that this Park Hyatt Hotel will be a unique world-class resort product and will capture all that is special about St.Kitts and Nevis. I look forward to the start-up of construction by the middle of 2013.”

On July 10, 2012, Range Developments signed an agreement to build and operate an ultra-luxury Park Hyatt hotel at Christophe Harbour, St. Kitts. Park Hyatt St. Kitts will encompass 200 hotel rooms, 50 branded residential villas, spa, pools, meeting facilities and three restaurants.
