PAM in Election Mode

By: Public Relations Office of PAM, Press Release

Basseterre, St.Kitts, December 18th, 2012  --  The Opposition People’s Action Movement  has declared that it is now ready for a national election and waiting eagerly to replace the Dr. Denzil Douglas-led St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party as the government.

Hundreds turned out last evening at a Special Emergency Convention at the Party HEADQUARTERS.

The PAM supporters expressed confidence that it was only a matter of time before Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas is booted out by the electorate . The large number of supporters all expressed an eagerness to  begin working and impressed upon the leadership that the campaign needs to start now. This was met with much agreement by the leadership as they indicated that they had already began putting the necessary mechanisms in place for an early election .

“With pressure bearing down on the Dr Denzil Douglas led government, the People’s Action Movement  is not ruling out an early General Election. In fact with the state of affairs currently we are certain that a General Election will be called within the first quarter of 2013,” said People’s Action Movement Leader Hon. Shawn K. Richards.

“In light of this we are getting our house in order to contest any election which may be called soon,” Richards continued

The People’s Action Movement is positioning itself for any election which the ruling Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas-led St.Kitts-Nevis Labour party will likely call very shortly.

In commenting on the convention the young charismatic leader Richards said, “The turn out and the energy at last evenings (December  17) Special Convention was exactly the platform which our Party needed to launch plans for the party's return to state power.”
