BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DELROY DELASHLY of Water Works, Cayon, who is said to be the father of one of the two children of the late Amanda ‘Myra’ Archibald of Whyte’s Mountain in Upper Cayon, was recently charged with her murder.

Delashly was taken into police custody sometime on Friday (Dec. 14) to assisting in the investigation, which police claimed was a possible domestic violence incident that may have led to Archibald’s death.

He was subsequently charged with murder and remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until his trial date.

Information had reached this publication stating that Archibald was shot sometime after midnight on Friday (Dec. 14) and her motionless body was found lying on a track leading to the house which she shared with the father of one of her children.

It also stated that she was in the company of a male who ran away from the scene, while her five-year-old daughter ran to the safety of the Cayon Police Station after witnessing her mother being shot.

SKNVibes visited the crime scene on the afternoon after she was killed and observed the blood-spattered area upon which Archibald’s body was found and also her house that was burnt to the ground, as well as her vehicle was also set on fire.

Unlike previous reports which stated that Archibald’s death had taken to 16 the total murders committed in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for the year, the Press and Public Relations Officer of the Police Force, Inspector Lyndon David, declared that her death took the total to 17.

He explained that Patrick ‘Flash’ Lawrence, whose lifeless body was found in the Bath Village area on Thursday, August 16, 2012, was treated as a homicide, thus making Archibald the 17th murder victim for the year.
