Invites all to PAM Public meeting in New Road on Thursday
Central Basseterre, St.Kitts (January 10th 2013):-Deputy Chairman of the People’s Action Movement Jonel Powell says he is overwhelmed by the positive response to him during his house to house campaigning. The 29 year old Attorney has been making the rounds making house to house calls as part of his efforts leading up to his possible showdown with incumbent Hon. Marcella Liburd.
“I have been pounding the pavement and touching and feeling the people and lending a very positive and responsive ear to their many concerns, “ said Powell.
“ I must admit that I have been overwhelmed by the positive , warm and welcoming response to me by persons that I have met with and visited from all political persuasions in my house to house. I was however deeply troubled, humbled and saddened by the countless number of issues that are plaguing persons of all political persuausions in the country.
It is certainly heartbreaking to see the hardships that some persons have to endure because of the burdening taxes and high costs of living brought on by years of reckless spending and mismanagement by the Douglas led government. This has made it even more obvious to me the tremendous neglect this constituency and the people of this constituency has endured and are experiencing. These encounters have only heightened my determination and resolve to serve my country and community as I honestly feel that our people are yearning for better representation and I am confident I can provide that,” Powell continued.
Powell along with his group have been making rounds through various areas in the Central Basseterre Constituency. The most recent area of his walk-thru programme is in New Road where the Party Is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday evening.
“This week I walked thru the New Road area to meet with persons and to also invite them to the public meeting which is scheduled for Thursday evening. I am looking forward to that meeting and many of the new road residents have also expressed their great anticipation of the meeting as the party has not had a meeting in that area since the 2010 elections,’ Powell stated
The PAM Public meeting is scheduled for 8pm on Thursday evening and will be the last meeting before the party’s MARCH OF NO CONFIDENCE on Friday.
