BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LOCALLY renowned sea-food restaurant, Sprat Net, reopened its doors for service last evening (Oct. 8), creating a “more inviting and comfortable dining experience” for visitors and locals alike.

Sprat Net is nestled along the Old Road shores and is heralded as one of the best sea food restaurants in the entire island. It offers a “relaxed social environment” which snakes along the seaside and gives an “open, casual setting under the moonlight”.

The restaurant, during its 13-year existence has been held in high regard for having the freshest and tastiest sea food and one of the widest varieties of alcoholic beverages offered in its bar.

Despite the humble beginning as a small bar and grill in 1995, the restaurant has grown to serve the finest Caribbean cuisine including ribs, chicken, fish, shrimp and its most famous lobster dish. It also specializes in pizzas and side dishes of corn on the cub, potato and a limited serving of ‘Sprat Net johnny cakes’.

~~Adz:Right~~Manager Jack Spencer explained that the restaurant was closed for its usual vacation period for two months and informed that the management made changes to the restaurant in order “to give it a different feeling from previous years”.

“Anybody coming to Sprat Net can look forward to a casual lime where they can sit and relax with people they don’t even know. It is not like an exclusive formal setting; the meet and greet and the interaction makes it a great social setting.

“And what is different is that we have a good mix of both locals and tourists and if you look throughout St. Kitts, there are only a few places where you can see that.”

Spencer indicated that the management will be adding grilled conch to its menu and, to its facility, a gift shop and a few guestrooms for overnight patrons.
