                            PM Douglas to speak at opening of Constituency # 4 office in Old Road

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 9TH 2008 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister and National Political Leader of the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is one of the speakers at a ceremony this weekend to officially open the Party’s Office in Constituency #4.

     

    According to organisers, the office of its candidate in the next general elections, Marketing Manager, Mr. Glenn “Ghost” Phillip, will be officially opened on Main Street, Old Road, during a ceremony which is scheduled to begin at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday 11th October.

     

    Three-term Parliamentary Representative for Central Basseterre, the Hon. Dwyer Astaphan will chair the ceremony.

     

    Welcome remarks will be brought by Mr. Cuthbert Caines. A gift will be made to current Parliamentary Representative and Minister of Health and Community and Social Development, the Hon. Rupert Herbert, who will make a brief address.

     

    Mr. Phillip will give brief remarks followed by Prime Minister and Party Leader, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, who will deliver the feature address.

     

    The Vote of Thanks will be given by Campaign Manager, Mr. Lauriston Matthew.Poems, modeling and a monologue will be rendered by young people from the Constituency.

     

    The 40-year-old Challengers native attended Primary and Secondary schools in Basseterre and is the first national of St. Kitts and Nevis to be awarded a basketball scholarship from a university in the United States.

     

    He graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Marketing from Quinnipiac University and is employed by The Cable where he is the Marketing and Customer Service Manager.

     

    Mr. Phillip is a past member and head coach of the St. Kitts National Junior Basketball Team and the St. Kitts National Basketball Team and has served as President of the St. Kitts Amateur Basketball Association.

     

    Glenn and his wife, Melicia have two children, Danya and Daije.    ~~Adz:Right~~
