She recognized Miss Lorozine Williams, past principal for the role she played in fostering the lasting bond between both organizations.  A short list of some of the items received by the school including Computers, Skeleton, Lab equipment, printers, PA system, etc. were highlighted for which the SPBS was praised.

The Ministry of Education was well represented by Mr. Michael Blake Education Officer who has direct responsibility for the school. The efforts made by the SPBS as a partner to the ministry were highly recognized and appreciated . He reminded the students of the value of such contributions and the need to take special care of the new equipment. He challenged them to use the equipment wisely and thanked the organization for their continued support on behalf of the Ministry.

Prior to the handing over of the Smart Board, Mr. Stephen Duggins representing the SPBS read a letter from the president Dr. Mervin Richardson. The letter spoke to the SPBS being an alumni association of the school that consist of hundreds of past students at home and abroad.  It highlighted the organization proud sponsorship of the Principal’s Award for the past 17 years.  A grants and scholarship program for  graduates of the institution wishing to pursue undergraduate, graduate or post graduate studies anywhere in the world was well received by all present. The letter ended with expression of thanks to the general public for its ongoing support.

At this juncture, Mr. Duggins spoke of the features of the smart board technology and urged both teachers and students to take full advantage of this “tool” to facilitate the learning process. He took the opportunity to praise the work done by the SPBS and highlighted the new PA system which will soon improve the present one being used. He commented on a Drumming program to be introduced shortly and efforts at supporting the Pogson Medical Complex.
