Deputy Governor attends International Public Service Conference

Deputy Governor Mrs. V. Inez Archibald

Roadtown, Tortola - Deputy Governor Mrs. V. Inez Archibald represented the BVI at an international public service conference this week. Mrs. Archibald attended the biennial conference of the Commonwealth Association of Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) in Barbados, which began Monday and concluded yesterday.

The three-day CAPAM conference focused on Commonwealth countries’ shared journey in achieving public service excellence. Delegates discussed strategies, prerequisites, and shared lessons in the development of a public service that actively responds to the needs of citizens in the current context.

The Deputy Governor also attended a pre-conference workshop on Sunday, which focused on the special vulnerabilities of small island states.

CAPAM was established in 1994 as a not-for-profit membership association for Commonwealth countries. Its objective is to facilitate discussion across diverse national and regional experiences on the shared public service experience.

Today, the Deputy Governor is expected to pay a courtesy call on Coordinator of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA), Mr. Jeremy Collymore, at the agency’s offices in St. Michael, Barbados. It will be Mrs. Archibald’s first meeting with CDERA since taking office as Deputy Governor in September.  ~~Adz:Right~~
