Roadtown, Tortola - His Excellency the Governor, after consultation with the Public Service Commission, recently approved Mr. Dennis Jennings’s confirmation in the post of Chief Immigration Officer, with effect from January 1, 2008.
Mr. Jennings has 31 years of experience at the Immigration Department. He was first appointed to the public service as an Immigration Officer II in 1977. Following that, Mr. Jennings was promoted to various posts within the department, including that of Deputy Chief Immigration Officer. Mr. Jennings has acted on many occasions as Chief Immigration Officer, including a two-year period from 2003 -2005, and most recently beginning in December 2007.
Mr. Jennings has a Level 5 Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute. He has also attended numerous training courses during his employment in the public service.
Mr. Jennings succeeds Mr. Malvern Brathwaite, who is presently on study leave pursuing a law degree.
