BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE highly-favoured ‘Fun ship’, Carnival Victory, has been repositioned to San Juan, Puerto Rico to replace the popular Carnival Destiny and will be touring the Caribbean Seas and exploring the islands’ wonders.

Victory, one of the 22 Carnival Fun ships, paid its inaugural visit to St. Kitts last Friday (Oct.30) and made its way back to its new port for its first official cruise out of San Juan, yesterday (Nov. 2).

The 100,000-ton luxury vessel is appropriately themed “Famous oceans of the world” and boasts a maximum capacity of 3400 passengers. The US $430MIL cruise ship houses a state-of-the-art gym, food courts, spas, pools and extravagant rooms, among other features, which all cover 14 decks and span the size of over three football fields.

In her most-recent visit to the island, Jill Potash, Business Development Manager for Carnival Cruise-line in the Caribbean opined that Victory would provide similar luxury and comfort as all the other Fun ships do, and would be touring the Southern Caribbean.

“What’s unique about the Carnival Victory itinerary is that she used to sail from Miami but she is now taking over the Carnival Destiny’s old itinerary, sailing from San Juan. The Carnival Destiny has been repositioned to Miami and is doing 4 and 5 day cruises and the Carnival Victory will start her inaugural sail from this Sunday to the Southern Caribbean from San Juan,” she told SKNVibes.com.

“There’s so much to do on a Carnival cruise. We are all about making our guests happy and we have wide variety of activities including our award-winning Camp Carnival and our Teens and Tweens Programme where we provide age-appropriate activities for the younger ones.”

Manager of Kantours Travel Agency Jasmine Warner-Weekes explained that the Carnival Fun ships are no strangers to St. Kitts.

“They have been visiting our shores for some time now and can easily be considered one of the favourites not only because of the size of the fleet but additionally there is a wide selection of accommodation, dining options, activities, excursions and pampering services to name a few.”
