Massive BLACK SAN’ Bang-A-Lang thanks to sponsors, partners and supporters!!

By: BLACK SAN’ Bang-A-Lang, Press Release

Thanks for making Black San’ 2013 a huge success!

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 8th 2013 - The dust has hardly settled and for some, their voices have not yet returned, after screaming or laughing, enjoying Black San' Bang-A-Lang's highlights. And while the taste of Black San' has not yet left our lips, the organizing committee, workers and volunteers are saying a big THANK YOU to all, for making the festival a huge success!!

Last weekend saw the closing events of Black San’ Bang-a-Lang with an outpouring of hundreds on the streets of Sandy Point to get their last chance to enjoy the famous festival until next year. The fast-growing community festival, witnessed an enhanced line-up of events, greater quality gigs and more events for the family as it delivered a hard-to- rival package in its third year.

The festival organized by the group of community change-makers, SPIRIT, ran from March 22nd to April 6th at various venues across Sandy Point.

Originally unveiled in November of 2011, Black San' rolled out sensational events, all having a unique twist, that covered two weeks, including educational and family-oriented events and also entertainment and care-free jam sessions! And, to the organizers, the festival this year showed a marked improvement from previousyears.

SPIRIT President Seanel Riley deemed Black San’ 2013 an ‘’enormous success’’ and stated that it was part of the group’s agenda to continue to be inclusive of families and of different forms of performing arts.
‘”As a group, SPIRIT has always strived to produce a festival to match the on-going needs of the community. And as you can suspect, we continually try to streamline and improve on the events we offer.

‘’Also, we’ve noticed that ourlocal businesses continue to play their roles as good corporate citizensin spite of on-going economic challenges and our sponsorship this year is clear that more and more businesses are taking their rightful place as partners in our work toward greater community development. And to them we owe much appreciation,’’ Riley said.

The festival was once again backed by big names in media and communications like SKNVibes and LIME while trading and manufacturing giants RAMs, Carib Brewery (SKN) and TDC Ltd renewed their support with impressive sponsorships. Organizers wish to thank the many returning and first-time sponsors who have come on-board to see the festival grow, and are confident that a closer relationship will be forged for future SPIRIT projects and programmes.

'Without the sponsors, it would have been very difficult, or nearly impossible, to deliver such high-quality events! We are always willing to promote the work of companies which invest in community development, and to them, we owe an enormous debt of gratitude. It was heartening to see smaller companies and even community members making donations to the festival's success.” Said Riley.
