               St. Paul’s centenarian dies three weeks after celebrating her 107th birthday

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 4TH 2008 (CUOPM) – St. Paul’s most senior resident, Ms. Mary Bradshaw has died, less than one month after celebrating her 107th birthday, her family said Tuesday.
     
    “She died peacefully at her home on Saturday morning of natural causes,” a family member said.
     
    Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas was among those who visited her when she turned 107 years on October 9th.
     
    Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday 7th November at 3:00 P.M. at the St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Dr. Douglas is to give the eulogy. Burial is in the churchyard.
     
    Born on October 8th 1901 at Rawlins Ground, Miss Bradshaw’s mother died when she was an infant. She never married and has no children, but used her home as a nursery for hundreds of children in the village for decades.
     
    Miss Bradshaw was a first cousin of National Hero and Father of Independence, the Right Excellent Sir Robert L. Bradshaw.
