Man charged with uncle’s murder

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – SANDY NISBETT, nephew of Alejandro Nisbett - the Federation’s most recent murder victim - was officially arrested and charged with his uncle’s murder.
Alejandro, a Shaw’s Road, Newcastle resident, lost his life on Thursday, October 30, 2008 when, according to police reports, he was “attacked and wounded with a machete at Saw’s Road at about 5:30 a.m.”.
Members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force attached to the Nevis Division responded to reports of the incident and on arrival at the scene found “the deceased lying in the road with what appeared to be blood coming from various parts of his body.”
Alejandro was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer who was called to the scene of the crime.
Information reaching this media house states that shortly after the incident occurred, the deceased’s nephew was taken into police custody and was subsequently charged with murder.
SKNVibes understands that Sandy was taken before the District “C” Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 where he was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison. ~~Adz:Right~~
An autopsy was performed on the deceased’s remains on Tuesday, November 4 by resident pathologist Dr. Jesus Debrok, who revealed that death was due to “asphyxia caused by multiple traumas of wounds to the right side of his head and neck”.
Alejandro’s death has taken the Federation’s murder toll for 2008 to 18, which is two more than last year’s figure and one more than the murder toll for 2006.
