Constituents celebrate 15 years with Dr. Harris
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SUPPORTERS of Dr. Timothy Harris have organised a week of activities in celebration of his 15th Anniversary as the Parliamentary Representative of Constituency No. 7.
According to a press release, the week of activities is scheduled to commence on Saturday, November 15 and concludes on the following Saturday. The programmed of activities will be made public through the various media houses sometime this week.
Dr. Harris was elected in November 1993, making him the youngest Member of Parliament at that time,, after defeating the incumbent Roy Jones, who served from 1984 to 1993.
He has contested the 1993, 1995, 2000 and 2004 General Elections in St. Kitts and has convincingly won all of them.
The release further stated that under Dr. Harris’ leadership, his constituents boast of enjoying improvement in housing, increase in land allocation, road and infrastructure development, a dental unit, a day care centre, a community centre, and brand new primary schools at Mansion and Lodge Project among other tangible benefits.
Additionally, his sponsorship of the Constituency Domino League, the Inner City Basketball League and Constituency No. 7 Scholarship awards have been praised as important outreach to the young and general community.
The charismatic and ever-approachable Dr. Timothy Harris is the current Minister of Finance, International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, and has undoubtedly served the nation well as Minister of Lands, Housing and Agriculture; Minister of Education, labour and Social Security; and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
