    Past Awardees

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - DIRECTORS of the Liamuiga Youth Legacy Awards Association said that they are immensely impressed by the achievements and continued contributions of past awardees.

The Directors said that over the years, past awardees have continued to excel in the areas of scholarship, leadership and service; these being the key criteria for selection. The organisation highlights the recent accomplishments of Shamara Morton, who was a 2004 Awardee, as well as those of the reigning National Calypso King, Konris Maynard, who was a 2006 Awardee. They said that this gives credence to their selection process.

The Directors noted that it was evident that their awardees are truly exceptional people who indeed have a legacy. They noted that during the selection process, they look at the contributions that applicants have made, as well as their accomplishments, and their willingness to make a difference and facilitate change.

The organisation, which was founded five years ago, was created to highlight the positive contributions of the nation’s youth. The Directors said although there is the old adage that says that the youth are leaders of tomorrow that there are in fact young people who are at the helm of leadership within the nation, that there are young people who are working assiduously for the betterment of mankind and their country and they deserve due recognition.

The Liamuiga Youth Legacy Awards Association is an Honour Society that recognises young citizens of St. Kitts ages 16 through 35 who have lived exemplary lives of Scholarship, Leadership and Service. Each year the association seeks outstanding, well rounded young individuals who are agents of change and who have contributed to the development of their respective communities and to St. Kitts.   ~~Adz:Right~~
