    Jury finds ex-policeman guilty of Incest

    ~~Adz:Right~~CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - AN ex-police officer was today (Nov. 18) found guilty of Incest by a jury at the Nevis Circuit Court.  Appearing before Her Ladyship Justice Ianthea Leigertwood-Octave, the ex-police officer was accused of Incest and Unlawful Carnal Knowledge of a female (under the age of consent) at Stoney Grove on July, 31, 2007.

     

    The accused, represented by Dr. Henry Browne, had appeared before Justice Francis Belle at the last Criminal Assizes held in Nevis, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail.

     

    The trial, which was held in camera, started yesterday and Justice Leigertwood-Octave has set Monday, December 22 as the date for the ex-police officer’s sentencing.
