By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com
CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – POLICE on Nevis have recovered the silver Mitsubishi RVR Jeep (PA7687) that went missing on the morning when Kishmoy Challenger of Pond Hill was shot while on his way to work.

The vehicle, which was registered to Challenger, was found undamaged sometime after 7:00 a.m. on Sunday (May 26) within a clump of bushes in an area locally known as ‘Gore Hill’ in Fountain Village.

Challenger was shot multiple times to the body sometime after 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 after he reportedly disembarked his vehicle on arrival at his place of employ – Cliff Dwellers.

He was reportedly shot by two gunmen who made good their escape in his vehicle.

Challenger was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital where he underwent surgery but succumbed to his injuries at about 5:00 p.m. that day.

Challenger was one of five men who in 2006 were convicted of the 2004 stabbing death of 16-year-old Eric Weekes.

However, the conviction and sentence of the High Court were appealed and the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal overturned the lower Court’s ruling for four of the five, including Challenger, exonerating them.

Meanwhile, another vehicle suspected to have been used in the murder of 21-year-old Jamal Isles of Fountain Village was also recovered by the police.

Speaking with Police Press and public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David, this media house was told that the vehicle is currently at the Charlestown Police Station.

“Police on Nevis are investigating an incident in which motor pickup P9990, which is owned by the Nevis Island Administration and was reported missing on Tuesday 21 May 2013, was recovered in a bushy area at Hickman’s Village, Gingerland on Wednesday 22 May 2013 with its interior burnt. The vehicle was removed and transported to the Charlestown Police Station compound,” David said.

He also said that anyone who has any information pertaining to this incident is ask to call the CID on Nevis or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, and reminded that the divulgence of such your information would be confidential, “and you may be eligible to receive a reward”.

When asked if the motor pickup had a role to play in Isles’ death, David said he was unaware and, if it were, the ongoing investigation would reveal same.

Isles was reportedly shot by “two men” in his residence who then “left him for dead”.

Information reaching SKNVibes indicated that the two men had knocked on the door of Isles’ Fountain Village home claiming to be police officers and they shot him in his bedroom after he opened it.

It is alleged that the vehicle was stolen from the government’s mechanic shop in Prospect and was used to transport the killers to and from Isles’ home.
