The Beach Allen Primary School continued to celebrate its 21st anniversary with its planned activities

    BASSETERRE St, Kitts, May 31st, 2013   --  On Wednesday the members who will be elected on Friday to serve on the student’s council had their first on-the-job training when they visited some of the senior citizens in surrounding communities. 

     

    Taking fruit baskets as tokens of appreciation, the students held a short devotion with these seniors. While they were out the rest of the school were engaged in community assemblies where teachers and students alike from the various communities gather together for worship. 

     

    Today, Thursday 30th may was dubbed math day.  With test of standards just about 2 weeks away the entire day was spent with the students engaged in math.  The morning saw the students working diligently on math problems copied from the board, while after break; they were engaged in group- work.  The afternoon climaxed with each class enjoying math games and/ or puzzles such the likes as ludo, horse race, shopping, and Jacobs’s ladder. 

     

    Shouts of excitement resonated from these classrooms and outdoors indicating that the students were absolutely having a wonderful experience.

     

    Principal, Mrs. Emileta Warner-Paul, noted that including these activities - math day and visiting the elderly in this year’s anniversary focused on the appreciation for a) the elderly and b) mathematics.   

     

    She went on to state that from the varied activities done students can now begin to see the importance of Mathematics in everyday life.  Other subject areas will take such focus God’s will in the ensuing school year.

     

    In related news, the student’s council elections will be held tomorrow Friday from 10:00 am followed by the prayer, praise and health checks breakfast on Saturday. 

     

    The students of the Windsor University have partnered with the school to conduct these health checks starting at 7:30 am.
