    Missing man may be victim of car crash…police still investigating

     

    ~~Adz:Right~~ St. Croix, USVI  - Police are still trying ascertain whether a man reported missing last Thursday (Nov. 27) was the victim of a deadly car crash that occurred on the day prior to the report being made.

     

    Police spokeswoman Melody Rames informed the public that investigators are still looking into the crash that trapped and burned to death the driver, as well as seeking the public’s help in finding 33-year-old Michael Morales.

     

    Police reports on Wednesday indicated that shortly after 5 p.m. a 1992 green Ford Explorer was involved with a hit and run and subsequent police chase when it plowed into a tree in La Reine Hill killing the driver on impact.

     

    Morales was well known to law enforcement having been arrested for various crimes including grand larceny, drug possession and robbery.

     

    According to the VI Daily News, Morales is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 120 pounds and has a beard, mustache and long dreadlocks. He is Hispanic with a fair complexion and has two known tattoos: "Butch" on his upper left shoulder and "Jah Live" on his torso.

     

    Morales resides in La Grande Princess but is known to visit Market Street, Christiansted.

     

    Anyone with information about Morales, anyone who may have seen him recently or seen him operating the green Ford Explorer is asked to contact Cpl. Luis Encarnacion at 778-2211 or 778-4950 or police emergency 911.
