BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Kitts Hotel and Casino, formerly Jack Tar Village, will be hosting its Job Fair on the hotel grounds in Frigate Bay starting tomorrow, Wednesday, December 10.

The two-day event will run from 10a.m.–4 p.m. daily and would provide the opportunity for qualified members of the general public to take positions including front-desk agents and receptionists, maintenance workers, room attendants, bartenders and cooks.

General Manager Dimitris Cosvogiannis told SKNVibes that the hotel is looking for suitably qualified persons in various fields, and noted that as the hotel gets poised for full occupancy during the tourism season, it is necessary to have the most suitable staff to support the hotel’s operations.

“We are very keen on attracting local people to work in the hotel. In fact, as a local hotel, we have an obligation to give back to the native population to give them an opportunity to add to the social and economic development of the country. We also believe that we should give back through education, empowerment and employment, because it is the locals who give us this position to reach tourists in the US and UK. ~~Adz:Right~~

“There are many professionals working in this industry with many years of experience and they can train and guide new recruits to allow them to achieve their dreams and goals.

“There will be a session organized by our Human Resource (HR) Department to help potential interviewees fill out application forms and get a chance to interact with HR representatives to assist them in choosing the most appropriate position according to their qualifications. We will conduct on-the-spot interviews, collect applications and confer to select the most appropriate candidates for the positions. Depending on the situation we may put forward on-the-spot offers to outstanding applicants.”

Cosvogiannis noted that although the objective is to attract individuals interested in full-time work at the hotel, opportunities may for skilled individuals who are only able to work part-time. He said the hotel is anticipating over 200 individuals, and encouraged interested members of the general public to take advantage of the employment opportunities.
