Unicomer (Courts) adds its name to the Digicel Business Portfolio

Press Release

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, August 13th 2013 -  Unicomer (who trades as Courts), the region’s largest furniture, appliance and electrical company, is now powered by Digicel Business.

Unicomer, which has been in business across the region since the early 1950’s, has retail operations based in Antigua, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Trinidad and Tobago. However, its existing telecoms communications infrastructure was fragmented, inefficient and costly.

So when the Digicel Business team reviewed the case, it designed and implemented a tailored Unified Communications and Contact Centre Solution which delivered intra and inter country calls to many of its operations at zero cost using Unicomer’s own network – delivering better management, improved control and enhanced quality of service – and in turn an increase in customer satisfaction.

Unified Communications (UC) make every aspect of a company’s communications accessible through one, unified interface, across multiple devices and platforms – meaning staff can work from anywhere. When implemented, UC solutions have a proven track record of reducing business costs and increasing a company’s profitability and operational efficiency by helping staff, customers and clients collaborate quickly and effectively.

Unicomer’s, Dennis Harris, who has executive responsibility for IT in the Caribbean said; “As Unicomer continues to grow, we are always looking for greater operational efficiencies that reduce costs and ultimately benefit our customers. The Digicel Business team delivered a solution that enables our employees and customers to connect more efficiently across 11 countries in the region. The result is lower costs as well as improved customer care and customer satisfaction – and we are thrilled with the outcome.”

Digicel Trinidad and Tobago CEO, John Delves, said; “Unified Communications solutions bring multiple benefits from reduced costs to happy and productive staff – and in turn, happier customers. In fact, according to a recent survey, almost a third of CIOs say they are now thinking seriously about investing in Unified Communications.

“Digicel Business is proud to be delivering Unified communication solutions to big names across the Caribbean – helping to keep their people connected and delivering great results for customers,” continued Delves.

Digicel Business keeps customers ahead of the game with leading technology solutions that solve business problems by delivering value, innovation and partnership. Its dedicated team of consulting professionals develop solutions that help companies achieve operational efficiencies and reduce costs while delivering security and peace of mind.
